Fitwins Launches Fitbit and Garmin, and GPS-tracking to improve experience

Are you ready to take your fitness journey to the next level? Fitwins has exciting news for all fitness enthusiasts. Previously, the distance tracking for our users were that they could link their Strava accounts to Fitwins, or manually input their distance travelled in our app, but now, we have added some incredible developments that enable the functionality to not only connect your Fitbit and Garmin devices as well, but to get rid of the tracking apps altogether and use our brand new GPS-enabled distance tracker, directly through Fitwins.

These new features make Fitwins even more inclusive and user-friendly, allowing you to track your progress seamlessly. Whether you’re a Fitbit, Strava, or Garmin user, or you use none of the above, Fitwins has got you covered!

Fitwins: A Virtual Fitness Challenge Like No Other

Before we dive into the details of these exciting new features, let’s take a moment to understand what Fitwins is all about.

Fitwins offers our users the opportunity to participate in monthly virtual challenges that take them on pre-designed routes of iconic cities such as Sydney, Tokyo, and London. As you tally up your distance goals, you’ll move further along these routes, virtually exploring new destinations through the Google-maps enabled system, and achieving your fitness milestones.

Fitwins is not just about tracking your steps or miles though; it’s about pushing your limits, improving your motivation, and embracing a healthy lifestyle. With the added convenience of linking your Fitbit or Garmin device, or simply tracking through Fitwins itself, it becomes an even more powerful tool for your fitness journey.

The Advantages of Linking Your Fitbit and Garmin Devices

Seamless Distance and Step Count Syncing

Fitwins understands that life gets busy, and sometimes it’s easy to forget to log in and update your step totals manually. But worry not. By connecting your Fitbit or Garmin device to Fitwins, you can effortlessly sync your step counts automatically. This feature saves you time and ensures that your progress is accurately reflected in the virtual challenges

No More Dependency on Strava

With the new linking functionality, plus the also recently relaunched in-app GPS-location tracking, Fitwins users no longer need to rely on Strava for live tracking their fitness activities. If you own a Fitbit watch or a Garmin device, you can now connect directly to Fitwins without the need for third-party apps. This makes Fitwins more inclusive and accessible, catering to a wider range of fitness enthusiasts.

Wide Device Compatibility

Fitwins supports a variety of devices, including Fitbit, Garmin, iPhone, and Android phones. Whether you prefer the sleek design of a Fitbit wearable, the advanced features of a Garmin watch, or the convenience of using your phone’s built-in pedometer, Fitwins has you covered.

The Advantage of using the Fitwins in-app GPS-enabled tracker

No Need for Additional Hardware

We understand that not everybody has the need, use or budget for a fitness smart watch. By using the in-app GPS tracker, you can keep everything on your one smart phone device. Simply press to record the journey at the start of your walk, run or cycling trip, and the data is automatically added to your distance goals. You can even see your progress on the map, just like you can on Strava.

No Dependency on Third Party Apps

It can be a pain, sometimes, to start tracking on one app, record your exercise and then open your Fitwins app to see where you’re standing on the leaderboard or in your group, or simply how far you’ve traveled on the virtual fitness challenge map. By keeping everything on the Fitwins app, you can do everything in one place, which we think makes for a much smoother experience for our users.

Real-Time Tracking and Notifications

Fitwins’ native mobile apps for iOS and Android provide a seamless tracking experience. With built-in GPS tracking, you can monitor your activity in real-time and receive push notifications for important events. Stay motivated and engaged with your progress directly in the app.

FAQ

Not sure how virtual fitness works?

The easiest way to learn is to try Fitwins for yourself! The app is free to download, and you only pay for challenges you take part in, so why not take it for a test drive?

In the meantime, here are the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions about how Fitwins compares to other virtual walking challenges.

No! We believe that flexibility is the key to fitness success, so instead of forcing you to complete a set distance, we let you set your own goal.  This means you can be flexible in how you complete YOUR challenge: so if you are smashing your target, you can raise the bar and aim for more.

All entries into our challenge will receive a great medal, with a ribbon specific to the challenge type.

For our “iconic challenges”, your ribbon will have a unique design related to the challenge. For our regular monthly challenges, your ribbon will reflect the total distance you covered.

Running and walking ribbons are awarded based on 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 175 and 200+ miles. Cycling ribbons are for distances of 50km, 100km, 200km, 500km, 1000km, 2000km and 3000km.

Absolutely! Not only that, but all the distance you’ve covered since the start of the month will count, as the Fitwins App syncs with Strava and logs all activities from the start of the month, regardless of what date you sign up for the challenge.

If you are hitting the streets with your app activated, verification is completed automatically by sycning with Strava. You can focus on completing your challenge, and we’ll take care of the rest.

If you’re using a treadmill, exercycle or other stationary equipment for some of your challenge, you’ll need to log this manually.
